Legacy Continuity Policy

Your Legacy Should Outlast Life's Changes

Life changes. People move. Communities grow. Organizations merge. Families relocate. Sometimes, loved ones pass away. Through every season of life, one thing should remain constant: Your legacy belongs to your family.

At Solace Moment, we've designed Legacy Programming™ to preserve stories—not tie them to a building, a subscription, or a single moment in time.

If You Move to Another Community

Your legacy moves with you. If you relocate to another senior living community or care setting, your memories remain part of your personal legacy. Your stories do not stay behind with the organization. They stay with you. You may continue your legacy independently or, if your new community also participates in Legacy Programming™, continue building upon the same legacy.

If Your Community Stops Participating

Organizations may occasionally choose to discontinue Legacy Programming™. If that happens, your family's memories are not deleted. Your legacy remains yours. You and your authorized family members may continue preserving your legacy through a Solace Moment Personal Plan. Our goal is to ensure that organizational changes never unnecessarily interrupt your family's story.

If a Sponsoring Organization Closes

If a sponsoring organization permanently closes, merges with another organization, or otherwise ceases operations, ownership of every legacy remains with the Legacy Owner and their family. No organization owns your personal memories. They simply sponsored the opportunity to create them. Families may continue their legacy independently at any time.

If the Legacy Owner Passes Away

The purpose of Solace Moment is to preserve memories for the people left behind. When a Legacy Owner passes away, the legacy they created continues according to the sharing preferences and beneficiary designations they established. Their stories remain available to the people they intended to receive them. Their voice continues to comfort future generations. Their legacy continues.

If a Family Member or Beneficiary Passes Away

Life is continually changing. Legacy Owners maintain complete control over beneficiary designations and may update them whenever necessary. This ensures that future access reflects the wishes of the Legacy Owner.

Continuing Your Legacy

Organizations sponsor participation. Families own the legacy. If organizational sponsorship ends, families may continue preserving their legacy through an individual Solace Moment Personal Plan. The Personal Plan allows families to:

  • Continue creating new memories.
  • Record additional stories.
  • Upload photographs and videos.
  • Maintain their Private Vault.
  • Manage beneficiaries.
  • Continue sharing memories with loved ones.

Your legacy continues because you choose to continue it.

If You Choose Not to Continue a Personal Plan

We understand that not every family will choose to continue with an active subscription. If you decide not to continue, your legacy is not automatically erased. Your existing memories remain preserved while Solace Moment continues operating the service. During this time:

  • Previously created memories remain available to you and your authorized family members.
  • New uploads and edits require an active subscription.
  • Existing content remains protected and accessible according to your account permissions.

We believe preserving what already exists should never depend on creating something new.

If Solace Moment Ever Ceases Operations

We are building Solace Moment with the intention of serving families for generations. However, responsible stewardship means preparing for every possibility. If Solace Moment ever permanently discontinues its services, we are committed to:

  • Providing advance notice whenever reasonably possible.
  • Giving families a reasonable opportunity to download and preserve their memories.
  • Providing clear export tools and instructions whenever available.
  • Communicating openly throughout the transition process.

Our goal is simple: No family should lose access to their memories without having the opportunity to preserve them elsewhere.

A Legacy Is More Than a Subscription

Subscriptions support the technology that preserves your legacy. They do not define ownership of it. Our mission has never been to rent access to memories. Our mission is to help families preserve them. That philosophy guides every decision we make.

Our Commitment

Buildings may change. Organizations may change. Technology will continue to evolve. But the love behind a family's memories should never depend on any of those things. That is why we designed Solace Moment around continuity. Because preserving a legacy means thinking beyond today. It means protecting tomorrow. It means honoring generations yet to come.

Your legacy belongs to your family. Today. Tomorrow. Always.
