Organizations Sponsor the Journey—They Do Not Own It

Many organizations choose to sponsor Legacy Programming™ as a meaningful way to help residents preserve their voices, stories, wisdom, and memories.

• Their role is to create the opportunity.
• Their role is not to own the legacy.

When an organization sponsors a Legacy, they are investing in the people they serve—not purchasing ownership of their memories. Every story, photograph, video, voice recording, and memory remains the property of the Legacy Owner and their family.

Shared Legacy & Private Vault

Every Legacy includes two distinct spaces designed to balance engagement with privacy.

Shared Legacy

The Shared Legacy is where Legacy Programming™ comes to life. This is where memories created during scheduled sessions, interviews, family visits, or organization-sponsored activities are preserved. These memories help celebrate life stories while allowing organizations to measure participation and engagement within their Legacy Programming™ initiatives. The Legacy Owner always has access to every shared memory.

Private Vault

The Private Vault is your personal space. Only you and the people you authorize may access its contents. Not your sponsoring organization. Not staff members. Not volunteers. Not other family members unless you choose. Private means private.

Within your Private Vault, you may create personal memories, upload private videos or documents, record messages for loved ones, or preserve information intended only for those you trust.

You Control Your Legacy

As the Legacy Owner, you remain in control at all times.

• Create private memories at any time.
• Move memories from your Shared Legacy into your Private Vault.
• Decide who has access to your Private Vault.
• Add or remove beneficiaries.
• Share memories with family whenever you choose.
• Keep certain memories completely private.

What Happens If I Move?

Life changes. Residents move. Families relocate. Care needs evolve. Your legacy should move with you. If you relocate to another community or no longer participate in an organization's Legacy Programming™, your legacy remains yours. Your memories stay with you—not the facility.

What Happens If My Organization Stops Participating?

If your sponsoring organization discontinues Legacy Programming™, your family's memories are not lost. You and your authorized family members may continue preserving your legacy through an individual Solace Moment Personal Plan. This allows you to continue adding new memories, managing your Private Vault, inviting family members, and preserving your legacy independently.

What Happens If I Don't Continue a Personal Plan?

If you choose not to continue with a personal plan, your legacy is not deleted simply because your organization no longer participates. Your existing memories remain preserved within your account while Solace Moment continues operating the service.

During this time:

• Previously created memories remain available to you and your authorized family members.
• No new memories or uploads may be added without an active plan.
• Existing memories remain protected and continue to belong to your family.

What Happens If the Legacy Owner Passes Away?

The purpose of Solace Moment is to preserve a person's legacy for the people they love. When a Legacy Owner passes away, ownership of the legacy follows the wishes established by the owner through their designated beneficiaries and authorized family members. Their stories do not disappear. Their voice continues to be available to those they intended to leave it to. Because memories become even more meaningful after someone is gone.

What Happens If the Sponsor Passes Away?

If the individual or organization sponsoring a Legacy is no longer able to continue sponsorship, ownership of the legacy does not change. The legacy remains with the Legacy Owner and their family. Eligible family members may continue the legacy through an individual Solace Moment Personal Plan if they wish to continue creating new memories.

What Happens If Solace Moment Ever Ceases Operations?

We sincerely hope that day never comes. Our mission is to preserve memories for generations, and we are committed to building a company that will serve families for many years to come. However, responsible stewardship means planning for every possibility.

If Solace Moment ever permanently discontinues its services, we are committed to:

• Providing advance notice whenever reasonably possible.
• Giving families a reasonable opportunity to download and preserve their memories.
• Providing tools and instructions for exporting available content.
• Communicating openly throughout the transition process.

We never want a family to lose access to irreplaceable memories without having the opportunity to preserve them elsewhere.
